Student Code of Conduct
Honor Pledge As a student of Phoenix East Aviation (PEA), I pledge to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and respect. I will conduct myself in a manner that reflects positively on myself and the institution. I acknowledge that I am responsible for my actions and will abide by the policies set forth in this Student Code of Conduct.
Prohibited Conduct
- Academic Integrity and Classroom Behavior
- Engaging in cheating, plagiarism, or any other form of academic dishonesty.
- Disrupting classroom instruction or interfering with the learning environment.
- Disorderly Conduct
- Engaging in behavior that is disruptive, lewd, indecent, or otherwise disorderly.
- Failing to comply with directions from school officials.
- Dishonesty
- Providing false information to any school official.
- Forging or altering school documents or records.
- Stealing, Vandalizing, Damaging, or Tampering with Personal or School Property
- Unauthorized taking or use of personal or school property.
- Intentional damage or destruction of property belonging to others or the school.
- Alcohol, Drug, and Tobacco Violations
- Possession, use, or distribution of illegal substances or alcohol on school premises.
- Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol while engaged in school activities.
- The non-smoking policy precludes the use of all forms of cigarettes or tobacco products, including cigars, pipes, vapes and e-cigarettes, inside the premises.
- Safe Driving on Campus
- Operate vehicles responsibly and remain aware of pedestrians, other vehicles, and potential hazards. Reckless driving, including speeding, aggressive acceleration, or sudden braking, is strictly prohibited.
- Misuse of Phoenix East Aviation ID/Key Card
- Unauthorized use, duplication, or lending of a school-issued ID or key card.
- Misuse of the Internet or Other Electronic Resources
- Engaging in inappropriate, illegal, or unethical use of the school’s electronic resources.
- Endangering the Well-Being of Another
- Actions that threaten or cause harm to others, including reckless behavior.
- Threat of Violence
- Making statements or taking actions that imply threats of harm to others.
- Acts of Violence
- Physical assault, fighting, or any other act of violence against another person.
- Sexual Misconduct Including Sexual Harassment or Violence
- Engaging in unwelcome sexual advances, harassment, or violence.
- Harassment
- Persistent or severe verbal, physical, or online harassment of any kind.
- Retaliation for Filing a Discrimination or Harassment Complaint
- Taking adverse action against someone who has filed a complaint or participated in an investigation.
- Violations of Any Local, State, or Federal Statute
- Engaging in illegal activities that violate laws or regulations.
- Any Other Violation of a Published Policy of the School
- Failure to comply with any additional rules or guidelines set forth by PEA.
Sanctions: Depending on the level of violation, one or all of the below may be issued.
- Official School Warning
- A formal notice issued to a student whose conduct does not meet school expectations.
- Remains on the student’s record for the duration of their flight training.
- Additional violations may result in more serious disciplinary action.
- Probation
- A period of review where the student must adhere to specified terms.
- Further violations may lead to suspension or termination.
- May include (but is not limited to):
- Removal from campus jobs or reassignment.
- Removal from mentorship positions.
- Suspension
- Temporary removal from PEA for a specified period of time.
- The student is not permitted to return until the suspension period ends.
- Termination
- Permanent removal from PEA.
- The student is not permitted to return at any time.
Phoenix East Aviation is committed to maintaining a professional and respectful learning environment. Violations of this Student Code of Conduct will be addressed in accordance with school policies and procedures.
Students interested in campus employment should be aware that a strong record of adherence to the Code of Conduct may be considered. Additionally, students are encouraged to uphold appropriate behavior off-campus, particularly when interacting with fellow members of the PEA community.
